In 1993, the museum was shortlisted for the European Museum of the Year. On May 11, 1993, the museum was awarded in Strasbourg the Council of Europe Museum Prize. The photo was taken in Strasbourg at the Council of Europe Museum Prize ceremony.

The 30th anniversary of the Kobarid Museum, October 2020
Regrettably, all events related to the anniversary celebration were canceled due to the declared epidemic. To mark the anniversaries, the Museum and the Foundation set up part of a new street exhibition in Gregorčičeva Street in Kobarid.
Opening of the "29 Months of Fighting along the Soča River" exhibition at the In Flanders Fields Museum in Ypres (Belgium). The event was concluded with the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the In Flanders Fields Museum (Ypres), the Kobarid Museum and the "Walk of Peace in the Soča Region" Foundation, December 2021.
In 2022, the Kobarid Museum awarded honorary membership to Mr. Manfred Benkl, a retired colonel of the German Army, who is a great friend, supporter and promoter of the Kobarid Museum, October 2022
