50.000 visitors in 2023

This year we are finally drawing nearer to the number of visitors from pre-covid years. Today, we have recorded the 50.000^th visitor in 2023. We are very glad that we had a good season, especially we must stress the summer months.

A special honour represents the fact that the 50.000^th visitor was somebody with roots from Kobarid. We were visited by two Australian students and when asked why they chose to visit KObarid, they said that grandfather of one of them was from Kobarid. He emigrated to Australia before WWII and there he founded his family. Today, his grandson visited his grandfather’s birthplace and learned something about the history of this area.

On this occasion, the director of Kobarid Museum, Martin Šolar, gave him some presents – the book “The White War”, catalogue of the exhibition “29 months of fights along the Soča” and the guide of the Kobarid museum.
