Accessibility

The museum is not equipped with ramps or an elevator, so the permanent exhibition is not accessible to people with severe mobility handicaps. The building is under the monument protection, so that only some limited retrofits are allowed. Temporary exhibitions can be viewed on the ground floor for free, and it is possible to watch a documentary film. There are toilet facilities for people with mobility handicaps.

A movie with subtitles in Slovenian, English, German and Italian is available for deaf and partially deaf people.

Some basic information about the museum for blind and weak-sighted people is provided in Braille and a special museum box is available containing objects which can be touched ("hands on" principle). To each object a suitable description belongs which is read by the assistant to the blind or a museum employee.
